lion friend

I was downloading videos tonight and came across this one that I took of Cole and his little lion friend. Santa got this lion for Cole on his first Christmas.

Nature walk

It was a beautiful day here today. Couldn't ask for better weather! We spent as much time outside as possible, including a trip to Hesthavn Nature Center, where they have a nice quiet trail, perfect for little feet, and lots of birds and trees, perfect for curious eyes.

Friday with Cole

Here are a couple photos of Cole from our Friday together. We spent the morning at the library for story hour (hence the green name tag on his back) and then the afternoon hanging around at home playing. We've been noticing recently that he has been getting more into playing with is toys (versus putting them in his mouth and then throwing them aside). He will actually sit and play with his barn for 20 minutes. It's fun to watch him interacting with all of the animals and starting to get into that imagination play.

hula dancer

On Friday Cole and I went with Sarah and her mom Martha to a Luau at Linn Benton Community College. It was a really nice event with lots of good food (sticky rice + chicken = yum!). Sarah thought that Cole would enjoy the music and dancers, and she was right! All he wanted to do all night was get on stage with the lovely hula dancers. For the most part I tried to hold him back, but let him run up there in between performances with the other kids. At one point he ended up there during a performance and it was so cute that I let him stay up there for a little bit. I wish that I had my video camera for this one! This bad cell photo really doesn't do it any justice, but you can kind of see Cole busting a move.

cell phone pics

Although cell phone pictures are not the best quality, it always seems like my phone is handiest to capture Cole in the moment.

We took a field trip to Safeway on Friday, which included Cole's first ride in one of the car carts. I don't think we'll ever be able to use one of the normal carts again. He loved it! He also loved exploring the floral department. Lots of pretty flowers to look at and smell.

I was getting ready this morning and Cole was happily playing in our bedroom. I looked over and saw him dancing to the music from his activity table in his Woody hat. I really wish I had video of that! Hilarious.

Cole with his new favorite toy, his rocking horse. He's quite the little dare devil! He likes to climb up on it, stand up, and then climb back down. Luckily he hasn't fallen off yet ...
